"You have cancer".... something that i have heard twice in my life. It is a moment in time which is 'not real'. Emotions run in so many directions.... the feeling of the need to hide and deny, a motivation to fight and be defiant, show a good face and be resilient.... the reality is that it is pressure- on you , your family, your regular life and your friends. It is pressure that has no real outlet- just waiting and enduring....

I am blessed by a family that was able to be with me through the many surgeries and the 3 years of cancer therapy. Same for me at work...lucky to have that support.  Very kind friends willing to do so many small things to make the time manageable for me and more so to allow my family to be able to be with me. I fought  with the support of two friends with cancer- two of us are still here.

A child should not ever have to carry this burden and disease. That child should always have their support system available. A chance to just be a child. A family should not have to struggle to be with their loved ones....there are so many facets into what goes into a family rallying to be able to be together.

I have run many triathalons/races in my life...injured, healthy, while receiving cancer therapy - all distances. Running this marathon - knowing that i represent a chance for a family to endure this together and in some small or large way to have a positive impact- I have never been more motivated for a race....please consider racing with me.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. This October I will run the Chicago Marathon on behalf Endure to Cure Pediatric Cancer Foundation (E2C).

E2C's programs include the Small Miracles Program provides children in cancer treatment and their families with uplifting gifts and experiences to help boost their spirits. Its Travel for Treatment Assistance Program helps families cover the immediate and uninsurable out-of-pocket expenses related to getting to and from their child’s cancer treatments. These expenses include things such as transportation, meals, and lodging.

As a member of Team E2C, I will be running with an equally dedicated group of individuals willing to go the distance for this cause. Each year in the U.S. alone, nearly 15,000 children will be diagnosed with cancer. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will help ease the emotional and financial impacts of childhood cancer.

At the Chicago Marathon, I will continue to push my physical and mental endurance limits to reach the finish line, 26.2 miles from start. My inspiration will come from children who struggle with cancer each and every day, and knowing that my effort will make a positive impact for them and their families.

Please help put a smile on some young faces and families in need of it most by making a contribution to this incredible cause--any size helps create impact. Thank you so much for your support and encouragement!
