Running for Hope: 2024 London Marathon
On April 21st, I will fly across the pond to run my 8th marathon, the London Marathon, in support of Endure to Cure (E2C). With your help, we will raise $6,500 to support children who are battling cancer.
The Why – My Marathon Journey
To me, running is more than physical, it's a metaphor for life. Each mile teaches me about perseverance, humility, and the resilience of the human spirit. Running has quieted my mind and healed my heart, imparting lessons of acceptance and the grace of letting go.
Running has paved a path to my self-actualization and healing, and now I run for those who are embarking on the toughest race of their lives – the race against pediatric cancer. The London Marathon is not just a race, it's 26.2 miles of hope, a chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families braving cancer.
I run because I believe in the power of hope and the impact of assistance. I run to be part of something larger than myself. The Cause
Cancer -when it strikes the youngest among us, it tests the very spirit of families and communities. Every three minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer, and the journey that follows is fraught with physical, emotional, and financial challenges. Endure to Cure addresses these challenges head-on, providing critical travel assistance for treatment and 'Small Miracles' to uplift spirits when the road is toughest.
The Impact
Your contribution goes beyond dollars; it translates into life-changing experiences. With nearly 60% of children lacking an oncologist within 50 miles, the Travel for Treatment Assistance Program ensures families can reach the life-saving care they need without the added burden of travel expenses.
‘Small Miracles’ bestow moments of joy and normalcy – from toys to family outings, these gestures fortify a child's courage and reinforce family bonds. These programs aren't just a nice-to-have; they're often a lifeline, a source of strength in the most trying times.
My goal is to raise $6500 for Endure to Cure, and every step I take, every mile I conquer, is dedicated to the brave young souls facing the unimaginable. With your help, we can cross the finish line together – a finish line marked by hope, strength, and the joy of life itself.
